This is the most popular workshop offered at the Colorado State Thespian Conference, (ThesCon). There, 200+ students cram into the room. Here, just a handful of lucky students will be allowed to enroll, and all of them will get one-on-one attention.
Every musical theatre performer has a tool box — your tools are the keys to your success. A career in professional musical theatre requires a strong, reliable, healthy voice that works for all Broadway styles.
Does your voice have the stamina to sing eight full-length shows a week? If your voice cracks or breaks between chest and head, is breathy on higher notes, or you can belt only in chest voice, the number of roles you can perform is extremely limited.
The workshop’s goal is to start you on your way to singing multiple shows in a week, without vocal fatigue. You will learn the basics of producing a strong, easy, healthy belt. You will find the exercises that are the most effective for your voice type and how to apply the technique from those exercises to songs. You will learn how to spot the strongest audition cuts and will be coached on a 16-bar cut that you bring with you.
This workshop is for those who have some experience performing in musicals, who are competent singers, and who are ready to take it to the next level. If you aren’t quite there, please ask us about private lessons by e-mailing info@broadwaytrainingintensive.com.
