College Chalk Board

& Private College Audition Coaching

Auditions for college musical theatre and acting programs are fiercely competitive, and applying and auditioning for a performing arts major is much more complicated than applying for any other major. Training covers everything from finding the perfect monologues, selecting the best songs, vocal technique, acting technique for both monologues and songs, and custom dance choreography; to how to choose the right college, conservatory, or university for you; to mock auditions and interviews; to what to wear for your auditions and how to schedule them.

Are you ready for the competition?

BTI Broadway Belt WorkshopThe Broadway Belt Workshop

Saturday, October 5, 2019

Every musical theatre performer has a tool box — your tools are the keys to your success. A career in professional musical theatre requires a strong, reliable, healthy voice that works for all Broadway styles.

Does your voice have the stamina to sing eight full-length shows a week? If your voice cracks or breaks between chest and head, is breathy on higher notes, or you can belt only in chest voice, the number of roles you can perform is extremely limited.

Learn the basics of producing a strong, easy, healthy belt; find exercises that are the most effective for your voice type; discover how to apply the technique from those exercises to songs; and learn how to spot the strongest audition cuts. Students are constantly amazed by the amount of progress they make in BTI’s Broadway Belt Workshop.

Shakespeare Text

The Shakespeare Workshop

This in-depth workshop explores the revolutionary method of the Royal Shakespeare Company. Training of this level is rarely found outside of an advanced college or conservatory acting program.  Students become competent in everything from iambic pentameter to Elizabethan characterization, and learn how to find invaluable clues to acting Shakespeare right in the text. Each student receives a monologue specifically chosen to suit them, guidance with analyzing their text, as well as acting coaching. This workshop is open to students ages 14 and up, and will culminates with an in-studio performance for friends and family.
